Mike joined the rehabilitation staff at MCH in 2007. He received his Master of Science in Speech-Language Pathology in 1986 from Towson State University and completed his clinical fellowship at Crotched Mountain Rehabilitation Center. He has practiced in a variety of settings including acute and rehabilitation hospitals, public schools, and skilled nursing facilities. Mike’s practice includes general speech and language disorders in populations from three years of age through adulthood, including developmental speech and language disorders, cerebral palsy, myological disorders (tongue thrust), head and neck cancer, laryngectomy, multiple sclerosis, and ALS. Specialty areas include stroke, brain injury, Parkinson’s disease, and swallowing disorders. Mike holds certification in Lee Silverman Voice Training, the standard for treatment of voice disorders associated with Parkinson’s disease. Mike also provides expert assessment of swallowing, including videoflouroscopic swallowing evaluation or modified barium swallow.
